Being a member for the past 7 years, Willenger’s Golf Club is a fitting first review for the brand new Twin Cities Golfing Website. This is one of the best values in the Twin Cities for a yearly membership. My son and I pay around $2,200 for the season which includes golf, cart and range balls (all grass range).

The conditions for the main part of the course you play are very good. There are some rough edges and the cart paths are getting some love this summer. Fairways are in great shape in 2021 and greens roll about as good as any course in the metro. Willengers has improved the bunkers this year with better sand but they can ruin a round if there is a thin layer of sand and clay underneath. They have improved the course by cutting down trees this year and getting more sun to grow grass on tee boxes.
The course layout is one of my favorite even though I don’t score well on the course way too often. Lots of water and you really need to hit a straight ball to score well here. Most of the players we get paired up with do not have good rounds here. It is a difficult but a fair golf course. Some of my favorite holes are 2, 5, 8, 9, 15 and 18 due to the fact I score well on them. My least favorite hole is the dreaded hole 3 especially with wind.
Price is amazing if you are a member or you play on their Tuesday Deal for $45 with cart and lunch. Not a bad price on weekends with cart in comparison to other courses. The food and beverage prices are comparable to any other nicer courses.
Customer service is amazing. Can’t ask for more. Several times have teed off on the back nine and staff is fine as long as you are not cutting anyone off. Then my son and I swing around to the front at night and don’t wait. Every staff member is friendly and this is a true golf first experience.
Amenities are limited but good overall. Love the all grass range. Chipping area is in a small area and offers limited practice. The putting green is 20/20. Restaurant is not full service due to the remote location. They offer a small banquet area. Most people come here to play golf and not worry about fine dining.
